The Farmhouse

Old stone, warm fires,
and proper peace and quiet

Carngowil has been standing here since the 14th century. The thick stone walls and inglenook fireplace in the snug are original — properly ancient. Everything else has been carefully restored: good beds, a kitchen built around a working Aga, and bathrooms that actually work.

There are four bedrooms across two floors (two with en suites), a big sitting room with an open fire, and a snug with a wood-burner that nobody ever wants to leave. Outside, the gardens stretch out in every direction with a children’s play area, climbing frame, outdoor dining, and views to the Preseli Mountains.

The coast path is a short walk from the front door. Goodwick beach is five minutes in the car. St Davids, Tregwynt Mill, and a string of hidden coves are all within half an hour.

For Families

Gardens big enough
to lose the children in

The gardens wrap right around the house — lawns, flower beds, gravel paths, and mature trees. There’s a children’s climbing frame and play area on the flat lawn.

On the south side there’s outdoor dining furniture with views across open farmland to the Preseli Mountains. On a clear evening the sunsets from the garden are amazing.

Barbecue and outdoor games provided. Plenty of space for everyone — you won’t be tripping over each other.

Probably the best self-catering property in which we have stayed in over 30 years of visiting Pembrokeshire.

House and gardens are beautiful and peaceful. Great set up for families. Our kids aged 4 and 7 played all day in the garden.

A fantastic location with views all around. The beds were really comfortable, not rock hard unlike most holiday rentals.

The overall feel and look of the cottage is sublime. It’s our second time staying and we’ll most definitely be back.
